Japanese Forces Withdrawing In New Guinea BLAMEY COMPLETES TOUR Rec. 1 p.m. SYDNEY, this clay. Australian patrol bases and artillery observation posts which the Japanese over-ran in their recent attacks in the Kesawai sector of itamu Valley, New Guinea, have been reoccupied by our forces. Moving deep into enemy territory, Australian patrols are being sent out in strength to try and make contact with the enemy. Australian artillery is active, while American bombcarrying Kittyhawks are also giving the ground forces close support. General Sir Thomas Blarney, Commander of Allied Land Forces in the South-west Pacific, has completed a tour of the area. He watched the beginning of the Japanese withdrawal in Ramu Valley.
