National war savings in the Auckland postal district last week amounted to ! i:: 5.")5 or £2268 short of the week's quota. The total investments since April 1 last excluding the Liberty Loan figures, are £610,453, or £262S short of the district's quota to date. Eight sub-centres, \wanui, Broadwood. Kaeo. Kaitaia, Mangonui, Russell, Tuakau and Waipu, have achieved their annual quotas for the year ending March 31 next. The Russell achievement is particularly outstanding in that the response has been more than double the allotted quota of 4/ per household per week.
