Both A.L.H.A. and Shore scored sixpointers last Saturday, the former against Suburbs, who were without the services of their captain, R. McKenzie, after the lirsf. innings, and Shore, against a very depleted Training College XI. who were without Boswell and Wickham, their top batsmen. \ ' Shore batted first and declared at the tea adjournment with 111 for four wickets. The best score was made by H. Thompson, 46 not out, with J. Vivian and A. Cleghorn scoring 15 and 10 respectively. McCarthy was the best of the teachers' bowlers-, taking three wickets for 22 runs. The seasiders' fielding was very keen, six catches being held very close in during Training College's first innings, and five in the second. Shore again adopted a tightly packed field close i m, and were successful in dismissing the Collegians for 2G in their first innings and 27 in their second. The innings netted 100 runs, the highest first innings score Suburbs have attained this season. Dixon took four wickets for 2-1 runs, Eaddy two for Iβ, and Coldham two for 31. A.L.H.A. replied with ISI, declared, the fast scoring of I. Johns being responsible for 12S of this tally, the highest individual score of the season. O. Stewart made 20, and Dixon 10 not out. In their second knock Suburbs could only make 24, I. Johns' slows causing devastation among the batsmen. The Berlei-Mf. Albert intermediate match was keenly fought out, but Mt. Albert could not dismiss the last Berlei batsman before time, so both teams take two points. Mt. Albert batted first and scored 120, Cliff making SS, Hickey 26, Walker 14 and Watson 11. Peacock, Lupton and Rich were the best of Berlei's trundlers, taking three wickets each at a cost of 24, 31 and IS rims respectively. At call of time Berlei had scored 112 for nine wickets. D. Peacock played a splendid innings, carrying her bat for 64, Colquhoun 13 and L. Lupton 10 being the only other batsmen to reach double figures. A.L.H.A. Juniors scored a six-point victory over an improved Maybelle team. V. Ma'rkwick was top scorer for Maybelle, making 12 of their innings of 31, which is their best to date. The second innings vielded only 24, Wetherill and Sergeant boini? the "thorn in the batsmen's side, taking five wickets for 12 runs, and three for 0 in Maybelle's first knock, and six for 10 and four for 14 respectively in the second innings. Wetherill 57, Dolan 3(> Simpson and Sergeant 33 each, ancl Dixie ''0 were chief contributors to AT H.A.'S total of 106, M. Burgess being the' only Maybelle bowler to make any impression.
