OBITUARY

MR. C. J. BROWN A long association with the legal life of the community has ended with the death of Mr. Charles Joseph Brown at his residence, 8, Birdwood Terrace. Parncll. Mr. Brown, had been associated with the firm of Russell, McVeagh, Macky and Barrowclough for a period of 68 vears, for the greater part of that time as accountant. He was aged 83, and until his last illness employed himself.actively in the business of the firm. Mr. Brown, who was born in Auckland, had many interesting recollections of the early life of the city, and as a young man took part in amateur theatricals and was keenly interested in fishing and yachting. He is survived by one son. His wife died four years ago. and another son was killed in the last war.
