WAVELL CONFIDENT

VICTORIOUS OUTCOME OP WAR Rec. 2 p.m. CALCUTTA, Dec. 20. The Viceroy of India, Viscount Wavell addressing the Associated Chambers of Commerce, declared that he has every confidence in a victorious outcome of the war in Europe in the not too distant future. "How far away it is cannot yet be determined, but the end of the war in the West will be no more than the beginning of the war in the East," he added. "There can be no security, economic or military, until Japan has been as thoroughly defeated as Germany."
