CROWDS AT BEACHES
Auckland beaches were crowded during the week-end, the warm sunshine and light breezes attracting thousands of people to the popular spots within easy reach of the city. Peak loads were carried by ferry, bus and tram services, and all transport was heavily taxed for Takapuna. Milford, Cheltenham and Narrow Neck. The beaches at the eastern end of the harbour were crowded, and the waterfront was linen with the cars of those who had petrol for the short trip.
