British Official Wireless Rec. 1 p.m. RUGBY, Dec. 12. United States Army Air Force Headquarters in Britain announce that large formations of Flying TTnrtresses and Liberator bombers, Escorted by Thunderbolt and Lightning fighters, attacked naval and other installations in Emden. Of the enemy fighter opposition, the bombers shot down 117 planes and the Allied fighters 21, making I total of 138. Twenty more were probably destroyed and 12 damaged. Of the attacking force, 17 bombers three fighters are missing. This was the 88th raid on Emden.
