HELPING DR. BARNARDO'S HOMES
Tlie right spirit of sympathy towards children less fortunate than herself is shown by Joan Wing, of Mount Roskill (12), who tells us that she collects money for Dr. Barnardo's Homes. "At present I am collecting for their Christmas fund. I collected 14/ in one and a half hours," she writes. "I like to collect the money because I think it is all for a good cause, don't you? "At school, our teacher gives us a paper with a Christmas tree on it, and on this tree are presents. Each person who gives me money for the children puts their initials and the amount given on one of the tovs. Did you know that the Dr. Barnafdo Homes have to care for at least S2OO children a year?" Peter Pan and Wendy are always glad to hear from any of our boys and girls— and we know there are many of them who do fine jobs like this, either for the , war effort or for people less fortunate than themselves.
