MILL HAND'S ORDEAL

ARM CAUGHT IN ROLLERS WHAKATANE, Monday. While working at the Whakatane paper mills Mr. James Cassin, mar tied, aged 38, had his left arm caught between the rollers of a machine and dragged in almost to the shoulder. The machine was stopped, but as it could not be reversed it had to be partially dismantled before Air Cassin s arm could be freed. During the hour entailed by this operation the injured man remained conscious A doctor was in attendance. ~7 t v llV Cassin was removed to the Whakatane Hospital, where amputation of the arm was performed immediately.
