GENERAL REMOVED
FORMER FASCIST LEADER Rec. noon. LONDON, Nov. 12. It is officially announced that General Maria Roatta, Chief of Staff of the Italian Army, has been removed from his post. The Algiers correspondent of the Associated Press, reporting this, points out that Rcatta's removal is the first tangible evidence that the Allied Command is calling on Marshal Badoglio to rid the Army of former Fascist commanders who are accused of infamous conduct. Roatta is reported to be on the Yugoslav Government's list of war criminals who should be brought to trial after the war.
