CHANGED OWNERSHIP

PROMISING MAIDEN (Special.) MATAMATA, this day. The maiden, Diamond King , , has been sold at a very fair figure by Mr. J. Clothier to Mr. B. C. Taylor, secretary of the Matamata Racing Club. The fouryear Siegfried gelding has gone into U. Cobb's stable to occupy the box vacated by Sir Standfast, which is now trained by J. L. Muir. Diamond King has only had two starts, and, a'though he was over-anxious in each, he showed con-; siderable pace. Sky Queen, raced by Mr. I Taylor in partnership with G. Cobb, has i been thrown out of work. Cobb will have Great Draw and Hot Speech racing at Otaki. Dumbo, a three-year-old by Jay from the dam of Va.l I L,u, was to have been taken down, but I received a kick, and his trip is now I doubtful. The first two mentioned have been working well, and are not without prospects. Corporal Doing Well ' With the exception perhaps of Atatu.j nothing at Matamata is showing more , promise than the three-year-old Corporal',, in R. H. Martin's stable. Corporal is ra typical Mr. Standfast horse from Lagooyn, and, if looks count for anything, /he should be a smart performer. He/ is being given plenty of time to furnftsh, but should be in racing trim for j the holidays. Esquire has again entered Mar/tin s stable. He is well in the rough, ar/id it will take some time to get him ready. Atatu has recovered from the kjfck he received while at the post for th<3 Wellington Guineas, but no decision lias yet been made as to whether he wSH start at Te Rapa. / Ureklaw is standing up to his work, and should be on hand at Te/ Rapa on Saturday week. This will bse his first race of the season. Ureklaw (races well fresh. Last season he won two of Ins first three starts. He only Jhad seven races. I
