Wiggins, the leading jockey, who won the double on Glenfalloch and Beau Vaals at Trentham, was involved in an accident as he' returned to the city. The car in which he was travelling was struck by another vehicle and overturned in Post Office Square. Wiggins was cut about the face and on the legs by broken glass, but he escaped serious injury, and will' fulfil his second day engagements at Trentham. STOPPED QUICKLY Evidently Royal Heir has not yet recovered "from the setback he received on his trip to Auckland for the Great Northern Guineas. In the hack six at Mastcrlon he was prominent in front with Water Hound, and at the last furlong appeared to be going with something in reserve, but he then stopped m a stride. Royal Heir is a bold galloper, but up till the present he lacks solidity.
