LICENSING POLL
NARROW MARGINS IN SOUTH (0.C.) WELLINGTON this day. Close margins in the licensing poll make the situation interesting in Invercargill and Mataura, where there is a possibility of restoration being carried. The deciding factor will be the proportion of 2500 service votes in transit and outstanding in the Pacific. Returning officers have been instructed to commence the licensing count after the electoral figures have been finalised. The recount results are not expected for more than a week. No progress returns are being issued.
