OBITUARY
MR. S. A. HETHERINGTON
(0.C.) THAMES, this day. A well-known member of a Thames family, Mr. Samuel Armstrong Hetherington, has died, after a long illness, at the age of 72. After matriculating at Thames High School, he gained his »'acher's degree at Auckland University College, and afterwards taught in a number of schools in the Auckland district, before establishing businesses at Thames and Te Aroha Mr. Hetherington was- a-, borough councillor and for several years chairman of the Board of Governors of the Thames High School. He was responsible for securing the site and the erection of the present Thames f? lgh „,, Schoo]L He was chairman of the Thames Chamber of Commerce for a number of years. Surviving him are his wife, two sons on active service, three sisters, and one brother.
