Entries for the Diggers' golf tourney to be played on the North Shore links, Takapuna, on Sunday, October 3, are coming to hand very slowly and "swingers of the lead." and irons, are asked not to forget that the organisers of the tourney have a great deal of work to do after entries are received in completing the draw, selecting the various teams, and arranging the handicaps, not to mention the necessary arrangements for the commissariat department. Many competitors last year left entries rather late, with the result that an extra burden was thrown on those responsible for getting the tourney away to time, and it is hoped that all intending to take part will notify their entries to the secretary, RS A Wellesley Street, Auckland, without delay' President "Mick" Walsh, who will be a starter, as usual, . reckons old Diggers and new should understand the need to double up" with their entries in view of the amount of organisation involved in the tourney. He realises that it is a hard day, too, for the players, and assures all prospective entrants that they will be set off on their "long, long trail" from the starting tee with a usual tot of "snake juice."
