JUST ACCIDENTAL?
OPENING OF A LETTER
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. "They got the right one, didn't they, said the leader of the National party, Mr. Holland, when he referred at Papanui last night to the letter m his mail that had been opened. He said his hearers would remember the incident some months ago, and the statement of the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, that the letter should net have been opened. "I can tell you now what was in the letter that was opened, so that you can see whether it was just accidental," said Mr. Holland "It contained the draft of the National party's election policy." Mr. Holland said that during his election tour a postmaster at one town had come to his secretary and told him that another letter had been found opened. An Interjector: Was he a Nationalist? Mr. Holland: No, he was a public servant, and he was deeply concerned that his Department was suspect.
