"It is my first offence, and I am very sorry for it," was the plea of a Maori, Willie Aorangi (24) when he appeared before Mr. Justice Callan for sentence on three charges of forgery and uttering. The prisoner would be allowed probation for two years, with a condition that in instalments of 10/ a week he pay £20, of which £15 2/5 was to go to th 2 youth whose bank book was operated on, and the remainder to pay the State for expenses incurred.
