TRADING SCHEME
KAITAIA DAIRY COMPANY
(0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. A V? n extraordinary general meeting, the Kaitaia Dairy Company clecided by 84 votes to 58, to acquire Mr. George Rickard's business and operate it as a branch of the company s activities in the heart of the town, greatly extending trading operations. The directors' proposal for the company to sponsor a separate company with the shareholding divided between suppliers and the townspeople was defeated narrowly. Opponents of the measure considered the social life of Kaitaia would be endangered by the move and that private business men would be squeezed out.
