ORGAN RECITAL

An organ recital was given on the Town Hall organ yesterday by Allan Maxwell, a 16-year-old pupil of the Mt. Albert Grammar School. A large audience was very pleased by the executive ability shown by the young player, and by his spirited and capable rendering of a number of classical solos, including Bach's Prelude and Fugue in E minor, Handel's Largo, and the Allegro Moderato from Mendelssohn's First Sonata. Very favourable comments were passed upon his playing by a number of musicians who attended the recital.
