Enemy Loosening' Grip On Salerno Area GERMAN FLANK TURNED British Official Wireless Rec. 2 p.m. RUGBY, Sept. 21. On the Italian front the Fifth Army has captured Eboli, south-east of Salerno, and the German left flank has been turned back to positions east and north of the town. Eboli is 15 miles from the coast. A correspondent describes how the Germans are being harried day and night from the air. especially along the road running inland from Eboli to the cross roads 25 miles away, and along the road running north from these cross roads to Avelino. This road connects with the network of roads in the Naples area.
