CLOSING TO-MORROW
NOMINATING CANDIDATES The number of candidates standing for seats in the general election on September 25 will become known to-morrow, as nominations close at noon. Already 300 persons have been announced as candidates, but it is considered that a number of : them will not go forward. A candidate in lodging his or her nomination, ■ must deposit £10 with the returning officer. In the event of less than 25 -per cent of the number of votes "polled by the successful candidate not being secured the deposit will be forfeited. At least two electors in the electorate concerned must sign the nomination paper, and no person may nominate more than one candidate. CANDIDATE RETIRES " (P.A.)
