Both ox and cow beef came forward at Westfield to-day in large numbers at prices considerably below those reached last week. Cows and heifers also came forward in larger numbers, and here also values were lower than late quotations. Extra choice ox sold to £2 15/ per 100 lb; choice and prime, £2 11/ to £2 13/ per 1001b. v Secondary and plain, 46/ to 49/ per 1001b" extra prime young cow and heifer beef, 43/ tn 51/; choice and prime, 39/ to 41/; ordinary cob beef, 27/ to 37/. Extra heavy prime steers raneed in price from £21 to £24 5/.
