STEALING OF MEAT

(0.C.) WHANGAREI, Tuesday. For stealing meat, the property of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, Hooti Kingi Dudley, aged 19, who had been released from the Army to take up employment at the Moerewa freezing works, was sentenced at Kawakawa to a month's imprisonment with hard labour. Commenting on the prevalence of meat stealing at the works, Mr. Raymond Ferner, S.M., said that any similar cases coming before him would receive more severe ■punishment.
