A GERMAN TRIBUTE
CANADIAN PILOT'S BRAVERY
LONDON. Miss Edna Hodgkinson heard of a glowing tribute to her fiance, Ser-geant-Pilot Ferguson, of Canada, broadcast by the German radio for the way he kept his plane aloft while his crew bailed out before crashlanding in Germany. The announcer said his bravery had been admired by all officers of the Luftwaffe. He said that Ferguson had been hit, but kept his plane up, knowing eventually he would have to crash-land. He came down in flames at the top of a hill, but suffered only a sprained ankle and minor bruises. Then the announcer gave this message for Miss Hodgkinson: "Hello, darling. I am in good health, but I shall not be able to see vou this Saturday. I have had a bit of an accident over Germany. Say hello to Fred for me. Love and kisses.— Jack."
