FOR WOMEN PRETTY WEDDING
WINDSOR—WIDDOWS BROCADED SATIN WORN St. Matthew's Church was the scene of a pretty wedding recently, when Miss Gwendoline Widdows, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Widdows, of Grey Lynn, was married to Mr. Sydney Windsor, youngest son of Mrs. Windsor, of Point Chevalier. Canon Coats officiated.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown of satin brocade with veil and orange blossom. The skirt and veil formed a long train, and she. carried a bouquet of stocks and l hyacinths. Attending as bridesmaids were her sisters, Misses Rona and Betty Widdows. They were dressed in mauve taffeta with wide, pale blue collars in Victorian style. Their bouquets toned with their frocks. The best man was Mr. T. Edwards and the groomsman was Mr. Ron McGregor. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Parnell Rose Garden Kiosk, where Mrs. Widdows received her guests wearing a frock of teal blue with wine hat and spray to match. The bridegroom's mother wore dusky pink with blue hat and spray. GOLDEN WEDDING MR. AND MRS. C. F. GREEN Two of Parnell's oldest identities, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Green, will celebrate their golden wedding to-mor-row. They were married at Auckland, and have lived in Parnell ever since. Mr. Green is a retired railway servant, being at the Newmarket workshops for many years. Of their eight children, six survive. They are Messrs. C. L. F., E. A.. F. R. G. 8., and J. L. Green, and Mesdames C. M. Myers and E. i. King. There are eight grandchildren. BOTTLED LEMON JUICE Squeeze the juice of the lemon into a basin and then strain through muslin to stop the pulp or pips. Having prepared some small bottles, which should be perfectly dry, fill them with the juice so near the top as to allow room only for half a teaspoonful of sweet oil in each. Cork the bottles securely and set upright in a cool place. When juice is required, choose a bottle which can be used in two or three days. Remove oil* by dipping in bottle a match or skewer with cotton wool wound round, to which the oil will adhere. When all is removed the juice will be found fresh and pure.
