SUPPLEMENTARY ROLJjS The Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, has announced that the writs for the general election will be issued on Tuesday, August 31, and the supplementary rolls will close that day. Applications for enrolment must be in the hands of the registra• of electors, or in his post office box by 6 p.m. on the day of the issue of the writs.

Copies of the main rolls are open for inspection at post offices, and application cards are available for people who find that their names are not on the main roll.

There are 156,033 names on the main, rolls of the eleven metropolitan electorates, and the supplementary rolls will include a large number of additional names.
