RAILWAY REVENUE
(0.C.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. A working profit of £191,548, shown by the railway accounts for the four weeks ended July 24, compares with a profit of £159,248 for the corresponding period last year, the increase being £32,300. The gross revenue was £1,108,053, which was £115,082 more than a year ago. Expenses were increased by £82,782 to £916,505.
For the period from April 1 to July 24 the net revenue was £1,075,230, an increase of £328,355 on that for the similar period last year. The gross revenue was £4,772,661, or £855,657 higher. The expenditure was £3,697,431, an increase of £527,302.
