PILOTLESS PLANE

Crashes On Danish Island In Baltic

IS IT NAZI SECRET WEAPON? Rec. 11 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 26. The crashing of a pilotless German aeroplane on Bornholm Island, a Danish island in the Baltic, is causing speculation as to whether it is the famous secret weapon upon which Germans were experimenting at Peenemunde, on the Baltic coast north of Berlin. A message from Stockholm says investigation of the wreckage has shown unusual technical details. The plane carried no bombs, and it is believed to have been on an experimental flight when it crashed. Swedish newspapers recall thcrumour that Hitler was building an armada of pilotless bombers operated by radio with which to attack London.
