NEW CARGO SHIPS
LOS ANGELES Fast new type Liberty ships now being built will carry their own helicopters for protection against submarines, says Rear-Admiral Howard L. Vickery, vice-chairman of the U.S. Maritime Commission. The first experiment with such an arrangement will be made with addition of a 40 by 40 flight deck to a ship now under construction at Baltimore.
