BOMBS FALL ON BRITAIN Rec. 10 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 18. The most extensive attacks on Britain for some time were made by the Luftwaffe last night. No concentrated raid was made. About 50 enemy planes took part in the attacks, during which high explosives were dropped on six places in the South-east and East England. Six of the raiders were destroyed over Britain and three others shot down near their own bases.

Berlin radio stated that the Luftwaffe raided South-east England, the Midlands and also military installations at Lincoln.
