Whilst engaged in shunting operations at Mangapehi on Thursday, a timber shunter, Mr, Thompson, had his head jammed between the ends of the sawn timber and the back of the locomotive upon stooping to disconnect the reach between the truck and the locomotive. Fortunately the timber only grazed the' top of his scalp and he was able to return home after medical attention. Injuries to two fingers were sustained by Mr. C.
