After hearing the report of Mr. J. S. Taylor, manager of the Auckland representative team which beat Waikato 37 —6 at Hamilton on Monday, the Rugby Union last night arranged tOt a return match to be played at Edea Park oa July 31.

This is the sixth year of the competition and will be played by the third grade teams of the respective clubs. Auckland Rngby League Mr. J. W. Probert, deputy-chairman of the Auckland Rugby League, presided at last evening's meeting of the management committee. "Upon the suggestion of the Senior Officers' Association it was decided to play the second round of the senior competition with nine teams, as at present. The control board decided to offer the Services a return game on July 17. i The senior division committee recommended that j the first six teams in the qualifying round should play off for the championship, the points gained to be carried forward. The board expressed the opinion that this was not its policy when the competition was framed, and it decided that the first six teams should start the round for the championship from "scratch." It was decided to replay the game if necessary (Metro won 5—4). The absence of a club linesman at Blandford Park on Saturday wan criticised and it was decided to ask the senior division delegate to brir;g the matter before the clubs.
