LEAGUE REPS.
A CALL FROM WELLINGTON CITY ROVERS ALSO FOR CAPITAL, Mr. E. J. Phelan presided at last night's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League, when two applications were considered for matches in the capital city. Dealing with the Wellington Rugby League's request for a representative game, Mr. Phelan said every encouragement should be given to the playing of representative games, and it was decided to arrange a suitable date for the match. The application of the City Rovers Club (the championship leader) for permission to play a game in Wellington early in the second round was deferred until next meeting. The ladies' social committee forwarded a donation of £5 toward the injured players' fund, the chairman remarking that the ladies had done splendid service in this respect A request from the St. John Ambulance Brigade for the provision of additional first-aid and medical requisites in the special rooms at Carlaw Park was granted. Saturday's arrangements:—City v. Mount Albert. Carlaw Park No. 1, 3 p.m., J. Hawkes; Manukau v. Marist, Carlaw Park No. 1, 1.45 pm J Donovan; Otahuhu v. North Shore, Carlaw Park No. 2, 3 p.m., s. Blllman; Ponsonby v. Newton,Carlaw Park No. 2, 1.45 p.m., H. Tate.
