RUGBY TRIALS CONTINUED
While the Auckland Rugby League and Football Association carry on with their senior championships next Saturday, the Auckland Rugby TJnion'a programme comprises the final series of trial games for grading purposes. The referees' appointments are:—

Secretaries of sports bodies are notified that any team intended lor publication must be handed in to the Advertising Department and cash paid at the ..counter.
Private W. J. McDevitt, who lost his life recently overseas, was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. McDevitt, of Devonport. A leftarm slow bowler, he was an old boy of Takapuna Grammar School and had some fine performances to his credit for North Shore seniors and Army teams in Egypt. Before departure for overseas Jack won the junior championship of the Waitemata Golf Club.
