PASSENGER KILLED
CAR AND TRUCK COLLIDE (0.C.) HAMILTON, Wednesday. As a result of a motor collision near Te Awamutu this evening, one of the occupants of a light car was killed and two others injured, one of them seriously. A light car driven by Mr. James Hunter, a preacher, of 4, Hall Street, Frankton, who- was accompanied by Mrs. Gwendoline Mary Raven, of 9, Oakleigh Avenue, Hamilton, and Mr. and Mrs. Brown, of Hamilton, was travelling toward Te Awamutu. On Taylor's Hill, a mile and a half from the town, it was involved in a collision with a Home Guard truck driven by Sergeant-Major F. Mills, of Hamilton. Mr. Brown was killed, Mr. Hunter suffered a broken thigh and other serious injuries and Mrs. Raven received a cut on the head. Mrs. Brown escaped injury. The two injured passengers were taken to the Waikato Hospical. Mr. Hunter's condition was serious on admission, but showed improvement this morning.
