PRIEST'S JUBILEE
' was -the 25th anniversary of" the ordination to the priesthood of the Rev. W. J. O'Doherty, of the Avondale Catholic Church, and jubilee celebrations " took place, commencing with a Jubilee Mass, conducted by Bishop Liston. There was a procession from the presbytery to the church. At 11.30 a reception was given for the children, and at 1 o'clock, the visiting priests were entertained'at a luncheon. A reception was held in the Avondale Town Hall last'night, where a presentation was made to Father O'Doherty. A concert followed later. Father O'Doherty has been in charge of -tr. i Avondale parish for two years.
