Mr. A. E. Playle has returned from Wellington. Mr. W. A. Donald returned from Wellington this morning. Maior-General J. H. Bell, D.5.0., Northern District Commandant, returned from the north yestei day. Lieutenant-Colonel E. Marsden, C.8.E., scientific adviser to the fighting forces, has returned to Wellington. Mr A S. Bailey, chairman of the City Council works committee, and Mr. J. Melling, town clerk, left for Wellington last evening. Mr. J. Stanton has been re-elected chairman of the Auckland Grammar Schools Board. Mr. J. V. Macky has been re-etected vice-chairman, and. Mr. M. Priestly and Mrs. G. K. Hamilton have been appointed representatives of the Education Board on the board.
