SECURITY TAXATION POSITION Doubt exists among investors concerning which Australian shares dealt in in New Zealand are liable for social, and national security taxes in this country. The .matter was raised at the morning call of the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day when the chairman, Mr. John W. Frater, said it was thought, that ■ the shares of Australian companies .trading in the Dominion were liable to such taxes. In the case of Broken Hill Proprietary Company, Ltd., no security taxes were payable. Mr. Frater said the Exchange had made representations to the Taxation Department with the object of securing a full list of Australian shares on which security taxation was not payable. j
