FAREWELL SOCIAL

An enjoyable social arranged by the employees of the Devonport Steam Ferry Company was held this week at Bayswater Hall on the occasion of the retirement from the service of the company of Mr. A. C. Dacre, traffic manager, and Mr. D. Baillie, superintending engineer, after 40 years' service. Mr. George Prentice, assistant manager, was in the chair and during the evening a presentation was made by Mr. Gordon Prentice, on behalf of the employees, to. each of the two retiring members of the staff. .The assisting artists were the North Shore Transport Band, Messrs. Cullerne, Kelly, Greenslade, Davies, Grace and Doyle.
