PRELIMINARY ROUND NEXT WEEK
The flags will be flying at Carlaw Park next Saturday, when the Auckland Rugby League will open the season with a preliminary series to the competition proper. The draw is:— No. 1: Mount Albert v. City, 1.45 p.m.; Richmond v. Otahuhu, 3 p.m. No. 2: Newton v. Marist, 1.45 p.m.; North Shore v. Ponsonby, 3 p.m.
