ENGLISH-SPEAKING UNION

INTEREST IN MOVEMENT The monthly luncheon arranged by the Auckland branch of the Eng-lish-Speaking Union was held in the Lewis Eady Hall yesterday. Mr. Alfred Eady, vice-president, presided and said that the keen interest taken in the movement was an indication of the success of its future activities.

The speaker was Mr. Hayclen Mellsop, who has been engaged in missionary work in China for the past seven and a half years, and is on furlough in New Zealand. Mr. Mellsop gave an account of past tradition in parts of occupied China, and war's effect on'life there.
