FOR WOMEN CATHEDRAL WEDDING

SMITH—PLUMMER BRIDAL COUPLE IN SERVICES The wedding of Miss Shirley Rae Plummer, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Plummer, of Western Springs, and Corporal Dudley Southern Smith, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Smith, of Grafton, was solemnised at St. Patrick's Cathedral last Saturday. Father Jellings officiated. Miss Betty Spiro sang Ave Maria during the wedding ceremony. . The bride, who was given away by her father, Avore a graceful gown of magnolia satin. The cross-over front and skirt were appliqued with rich lace. She carried a sheaf of water lilies and hr long tulle veil was held in place with a top knot of tiny lilies of the same kind.

Three bridesmaids were in attendance. They were Misses Nancy Macdonald, Betty Watters and Part} 7 Boggs, all of whom were dressed alike in deep lavender taffetas with inset panels from shoulder to hem of parma violet velvet. They wore tulle Juliete caps with top knots of flowers to tone, and their bouquets were in the same colours.

The bridegroom (recently returned from Canada and now posted at a station in the North Island) was attended by Corporal Jack Moore as best man and Corporals Norm. Beard and Ken Clarke as groomsmen, all of them being in the Air Force. Driver Ross Jacomb (cousin of the bride) was the usher. As the bride is a W.A.A.C., friends in the same unit formed a guard of honour at the door.

The reception was held at Geo. Court's, where Mrs. Plummer received her guests in a navy embossed suit and navy accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a teal-blue frock with black accessories and a North American skunk cape.
