OPENING OP NEW CLUB

The opening ceremony of the Government House Club for members of the armed forces and the Merchant Navy will be performed on Saturday at 3 p.m. by the GovernorGeneral, Sir Cyril Newall, who will be accompanied by Lady Newall. The secretary of the committee appointed to control the club, Mr. James Mel'ling, said that lack of space made it impossible to accommodate the general public. J The speakers will be His Excellency the Governor-General, the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. Allum, and the officer commanding the Northern Military District, Major-General P. H. Bell, D.S.O.
