U-BOAT POSITION

CONFLICTING ALLIED REPORTS (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Feb. 11. When the First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. A. V. Alexander, informed the House of Commons that Mr Churchill would deal with the U-boat position in a statement on the war situation, Mr. Emanuel Shinwell (Labour. Durham) drew attention to the difference in the statements made by Britain and America. He asked if an informed statement could be made to clear up the confusion. Mr. Churchill said: "We like to confuse the enemy."
