20 for Parnell against 'Varsity, the former Mount Albert Grammar skipper and Brabin Cup 'keeper, N. M. Sherer, batted solidly, as he did two years ago when he hit a century against Canterbury junior reps. On Saturday he was in fine form, behind the stumps, there being only eight extras in a total of 222, and he stumped A. F. Bell off the first ball sent down by Sherer's old secondary schools' rival, B. Sutcliffe, who had the honour of opening the bowling at one end for Parnell.
