JOCKEY INJURED
FALL, IN RACE AT ELLERSLIE Concussion, severe shock and a possible fracture of the right thigh were suffered by a jockey, Walter Edward Carter, aged 17. of Avenue Road, New Plymouth, when his mount, Miss Jose, fell in the Bowen Handicap at Ellerslie on Saturday afternoon. The injured youth was taken to the Auckland Hospital. His condition to-day was . fair.
