CONDITIONS AT CAMP
RETURN TO NORMAL REPORTED
Relatives of men who are interned at Oflag IX A/H may have received complaints from their prisoner relatives to the effect that they had been deprived of some amenities for a certain period. The prisoners Avere deprived of a few toilet articles and all clothing except that which they were actually wearing. The Prisoners of War Enquiry Office in Auckland stated to-day that the Swiss Government has now advised by cable that since November 28' the conditions in this camp have returned to normal and next-of-kin need have no further worries regarding the treatment of the men. Next-of-kin, it is stated, can rest assured that when conditions such as those referred to above are brought under the notice of the British Government no time is lost in bringing the complaint before the proper authorities and, as in this case, having the penalties removed.
