R.A.F. BOMBS MANDALAY
DIRECT HITS ON RAILWAY ! Rec. 11.30 a.m. RUGBY, Dec. 13. A joint communique from India reports that R.A.F. bombers, escorted by fighters, made a successful attack on • railway yards at Mandalay. Bombs fell on the permanent way among rolling stock, and direct hits were scored on station buildings and sheds. No enemy fighters were encountered. Another bomber formation attacked Naba railway station 150 miles north of Mandalay. Bombs burst among the rolling stock. A stationary train a mile south of Naba was attacked with good results. None of our aircraft is missing.
