SIR CAMERON FIT

ELLERSLIE TRAINING

SOME SATISFACTORY TRIALS

Although the No. 1 grass track at Ellerslie was not burned up with speed this morning, some very useful tasks were accomplished by horses with engagements at Waipa races at Te Awamutu on Saturday, as well as by others which are expected to court popularity during the Christmas meetings. Among those to please were Sir Cameron, Catrlne, Look ';® a . Belle Renarde, Lord Defoe, Red Warden and Brome. The poles were 10 feet out and the going was in good order. . Jhe promising hack. Belle Renarde, infused plenty of dash into her sprint ? ve J"„ three furlongs, which she left behind in 375, without being ridden out, and this was easily the best over the distance. The next best were Landveyor, last three in 40s, and Bronzo and the two-year-old Mr. Rosa, 40 2-ss. L°pk Again, a Mr. Standfast juvenile which has raced prominently to register three fourths in four starts, shared the honours over four furlongs with Sir Cameron and Catrine, clocking 49 l-ss, Shepherd's Mate being next best, 50s dead, as he beat Lo Zin. Lord Defoe came over six furlongs in 1.17 l-ss, and he was galloping well within himself at the finish, while Red Warden just shaded Brome in 1.17 2-5. Other gallops were:— Four Furlongs.—Wee Pay, 50 4-ss; Victory Lass and Hunting King, 51 2-ss; Altess.' 525; Stepping, 52 2-ss; Recipient and General Burleigh, 53 2-ss. Five Furlongs.—British Mint, 1.3 4-5, beat Last Survey, 1.4 4-5; Grand Sight, last six, 1.6 1-5. Six Furlongs.—Lady Reynard was better than Sporting Gold in 1.18 2-5; Corot, 1.18 1-5; Dependable and Gold Age, 1.22 4-5. Seven Furlongs.—Travancore, 1.30 3-5; Kiatere Maati beat Pennywhistle, 1.31; British Talent, 1.33 2-5, last four 525. A Round.—Odtaa, 1.54; last mile, 1.46; final six, 1.20 1-5. Over Hardies Bright Idea (Lynch) cleared four obstacles in improved style, while Floodlight (McLaughlin) and Buccaneer (Williamson) were only fair in a similar task, which was made light of by Ginno (Williamson) in an exceptionally fast exhibition.
