The Onehunga Borough Council met last evening. the Mayor. Mr. J. Park, presiding.
Water Consumption.—The engineer reported that during the recent dry spell heavy demands on the water supply had been made by the three adjacent local bodies. On one day over 1.000 000 (rations had been drawn In addition to the borough requirements.
Auckland Bailors' H«s».—ln thajifng the council tor Its donation the committee advised that as b. result of the recent sppeal £199 had been received.
Carnegie Library,—The library committee, in its report to the council, stated that there were now 1250 adult and 112 Juvenile members, and 1150 book* and 300 magazines were taken out weekly. Ihe committee reported that the librarian. Miss O. Bailey, had resigned, and a presentation was made to her In recognition of her long service.
